Amino acid overview
(Friday, February 17, 2012)
Amino acids are molecules that an amino group, a carboxylic acid group and side chains are specific to each amino acid. Essential elements of the amino acids are carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen. They are very important in biochemistry, where this term is usually alpha-amino acids.
Alpha-amino acids from H2NCHRCOOH general formula, wherein R is an organic substituent of the amino groups attached to adjacent carbon atoms bound to the carboxylate groups (the α-carbon). There are other types of amino acids when the amino group attached to carbon atoms, such as the gamma-amino acids are separated (eg gamma-aminobutyric acid) wherein the carbon atom attached to the amino group of the carboxylic groups of the other two carbon atoms. Alpha-amino acids in a variety of different side chains (R groups), alpha-carbon atom is bound, and the size of only one hydrogen atom in glycine to a large heterocyclic group in tryptophan to vary.
Amino acids used as building blocks of proteins, a linear chain of amino acids. Amino acids in different sequences together to form the next connected to a variety of proteins. Twenty amino acids that are naturally incorporated into polypeptides and amino acids or as a standard. These 20 are encoded by the universal genetic code. Nine essential amino acids are called "essential" for humans because they are not of the other compounds produced by the human body, and should be taken as food. See also my article with the title of Amino Acids is Important for human.
Essential amino acids in the diet and are often found in foodstuffs, fertilizers, food technology and industry. In industry, applications include the production of biodegradable plastics, drugs and chiral catalysts.
To get the source of amino products are cheap, safe and reliable I always entrust it to amazon.com, you try to look for reviews of products and get free shipping.
